Our Classes and Courses
We run art and design classes for children in Pateley Bridge, North Yorkshire. We are incredibly lucky to be able to use two inspiring locations, the 'Number 6 Studio Gallery' and 'Fishpond Wood'.
The 'Number 6 Studio Gallery' is maintained by the NVA ('Nidderdale Visual Arts' charity) and is regularly used by artists and art groups in the local area. It provides a wonderful light, airy and well resourced 'real' art studio for the children to use.
'Fishpond Wood' is a beautiful, ancient woodland, home to Whitewoods Wellbeing. The woodland comprises primarily Beech and Birch trees, a beautiful pond, inspirations that change with the seasons and a comfortable shelter and hygiene facilities.
Classes are for children, aged 4 to 14 years. They take place on Saturdays, during the school holidays and during the week for home educated children. Please go to our bookings page to see our current classes.
During a typical class, we will gather for a short introduction as we share the theme and relevant artists. Children will then be free to choose which provocation and activity or activities they wish to explore.
There will always be two teacher-led activities, where the children can choose to be introduced to new skills. Alongside this, there will be several 'open-ended' activities for those who prefer to follow their own creative instincts.
Assistance from a teacher will always be available when needed. Class sizes are limited to a small number of children to ensure that this is possible.
All classes and courses must be booked in advance using the booking system on this website.
