For our holiday workshops, we celebrated Spring with all it's colour and delight.
Birdie wall hangings were created, egg totem poles constructed and cheery chickens collaged.
Natural dyes made from beetroot and turmeric were used to stain duck and hen eggs. The eggs bobbed around in the dye for up to 40 minutes. Once dry, pattern was added with metallic pens.
The children had the option to use bubble wrap, rollers, scrappers and sponges to create a painted background. Newspaper was torn up to create characterful chickens and spring flowers.
What a relief to see the sun and to feel the warmth!
