We ran some festive classes before Christmas inspired by Julia Donaldson's book ' The Christmas Pine'.

We left a range of loose parts on a table to provide a completely open ended activity for the children to create their own festive sculptures. We were impressed by the Christmas trees that appeared from nowhere!
These Christmas trees and woven stars were a great way to occupy little fingers!
Finally, white clay, conifer fronds, poppy seed heads, shaped cutters, stamps and a range of clay tools were used to make delicate Christmas tree decorations. Click on the arrow below to slide along the images.
