This week's Bag of Creativity is inspired by World Book Day, which falls on Thursday 4th March.

World Book Day is a wonderful celebration of all things bookish. As a charity it strives to use books and reading to change and enhance lives.

We want to endorse WBD by providing art activities inspired by some of our favourite picture books and we will be running two online creative writing workshops with Yorkshire based writer Rob Young.

This Bag of Creativity does not include registration to an online creative writing workshop. Your child can use the materials in the bag to find out about our favourite picture books to use for inspiration to get creative or they are encouraged to use their own favourite books too!

The bag will contain an information sheet (including recommended links to the World Book Day website), instructions and tips for what to make and the following materials: assorted collage papers, assorted card, stickers, buttons, feathers, wool, craft sticks, elastic, pipe cleaners, a small bag of clay and a small pot of Marven Medium glue.

As in our classes, we intend that the activity be open to interpretation too, so the materials could be used however your child/ren would like - let them enjoy the process and celebrate their creativity!

The children will need to have their own pair of scissors, a paintbrush and colouring pencils/pens. Gathering and including natural materials found outside would be a fun way to extend the activities too!

*We will be donating £1 for every bag sold to the World Book Day charity to support their work.

*Please note that we do not recommend this bag for children under the age of 5 due to the small parts included.
