April's Bag of Creativity is inspired by the new life that we are starting to see all around us as Spring begins. This time of year, and eggs in particular, have inspired many artists to create in both 2D and 3D. Included in the bag will be information about several key artworks, including Barbara Hepworth, and links to websites where you can find out more about them.
The bag will contain an information sheet, instructions for making a Springtime wreath out of an old egg box and tips and ideas for other Springtime decorations, including a feathery friend!
The bag will contain the following materials: a hessian wreath base, assorted tissue papers, green patterned paper, assorted paper stars, assorted buttons, assorted beads, assorted wooden decorative eggs, shredded paper, feathers, wool, acrylic paints, a small bag of white porcelain clay and a small pot of Marven Medium glue.
As in our classes, we intend that the activity be open to interpretation too, so the materials could be used however your child/ren would like - let them enjoy the process and celebrate their creativity!
The children will need to have their own empty egg box, scissors and a stapler if they choose to make a garland. Gathering and including natural materials found outside would be a fun way to extend the activities too!
*Please note that we do not recommend this bag for children under the age of 5 due to the small parts included.
