The contents of this bag will enable your child to learn about Chinese New Year and the creative practices associated with it. There will also be facts about the delicious food consumed during such an important festival!

Celebrations begin this Friday 12th February and 2021 is the Year of the Ox. Your child/ren will have the opportunity to investigate the materials in the bag and could make a clay sculpture of an Ox, clay models of food, paper lanterns, decorative fans and pretty blossom garlands.

Each bag contains an information sheet, simple instructions with tips and ideas for what to make, a small bag of clay, assorted paper, white and gold thread, beads, buttons, ribbon, art straws, stickers, paint, cotton buds, a small sponge, a stick and glue.

As in our classes, we intend that the activity be open to interpretation too, so the materials could be used however your child/ren would like - let them enjoy the process and celebrate their creativity!

The children will need to have their own pair of scissors, a stapler, a paint brush and if possible, a garlic press!

*Please note that we do not recommend this bag for children under the age of 5 due to the small parts included.
