Covid-19 Information (September 2020)

After closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are delighted to be back!

Both 'Nidderdale Visual Arts' and 'Clay, Paper, Scissors' have completed risk assessments in order to ensure that classes are now designed to keep us all safe and well.

Please read all of the following information so that you know the procedures that must be adhered to.

  • For our regular Classes and Courses

  • Please do not allow your child to attend a class if they, or any member of their household, are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms or if they have experienced them during the previous 7 days. This also applies if your child, or any member of their household, have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been advised to isolate by the NHS Test and Trace system.

  • As it is now mandatory for premises to keep contact records of all visitors to support the NHS Test and Trace system, personal data including your/your child's name, contact phone number, arrival and departure time will be shared with the 'Nidderdale Visual Arts' charity. This data will be kept in line with data protection law and will be destroyed after 21 days.

  • Children will need to be dropped off at the main entrance and picked up from the double doors, in order to comply with the separate entrance and exit doors now in place.

  • Please can parents/carers make every effort to maintain social distancing at drop off and pick up.

  • There is now a limit on the number of people allowed into the studio, in order to maintain appropriate distancing in our classes. Therefore, parents will not be able to stay with their child for the duration of the session as before (unless it is a pre-school class). It may be possible for a parent/carer to enter the studio for a short time, in order to settle their child at the start of the class if necessary. Please let us know beforehand either by email or on the booking form if you would like to organise this.

  • Children will be asked to wash their hands on entering the studio and they will be reminded about frequent hand washing/sanitising, best hygiene practise for coughs and sneezes and distancing during the introduction. All hand sanitisers and hand washing supplies are provided.

  • Depending on the nature of the art activity, children may be given their own resources to use or shared resources will be cleaned in between use. Surfaces will be cleaned regularly, as the children move from one activity to another.

  • We are unable to provide refreshments so children will need to bring their own drink (named please). No food may be consumed in the studio.

  • After the class, the studio is thoroughly cleaned so that there is minimal risk of transmission from one group to another.

  • If your child or any member of your household develops COVID-19 symptoms, as described above, within 7 days of attending a class, you must inform us by email (claypaperscissors@outlook.com) without delay and use the NHS Test and Trace system to alert others.

Please do get in touch by email if you have any queries about these guidelines.

Our risk assessment will be ongoing and any changes or additions to our practise will be added to this page and dated accordingly.
  • For the Big Draw event on Saturday 31st October

  • Please do not attend the event if you, or any member of your household, are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms or if they have been experienced during the last 7 days. This also applies if you, or any member of your household, have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been advised to isolate by the NHS Test and trace system.

  • Please book in advance where possible. There is a maximum of 6 visitors at a time in the studio.(If you made a booking but then are unable to come please let us know by email without delay.)

  • Please enter the studio by the right hand door (there will be a sign) and then exit via the double doors, following the one way system throughout the studio.

  • All members of the group must wash or sanitise their hands upon entry.

  • Masks must be worn by any member of the group that is 12 years and over.

  • Please ensure that you maintain social distancing throughout your visit.

  • Please use a tissue to contain a cough or sneeze and place this in the bin before washing your hands.

  • Please do not eat or drink in the studio.

  • We aim for every visitor to have their own materials and any that need to be shared will be cleaned in between use. There is a 5 minute window in between each session for cleaning of surfaces and furniture in between groups too.

  • If you or any member of your group or household develop COVID-19 symptoms within 7 days of attending the event, you must inform us by email (claypaperscissors@outlook.com) and use the NHS Test and Trace system to alert others.
